Marvel Drops Shia LaBeouf From MCU Role After FKA Twigs Sexual Battery Lawsuit

You've probably heard somewhere that Shia LaBeouf could be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Unfortunately, that may no longer be happening. A new report claims that Marvel Studios has decided to drop the Transformers star following FKA Twigs' sexual battery lawsuit.

Variety recently published an in-depth look at the controversy LaBeouf is facing and the outlet confirmed that Marvel Studios had its eye on the former Disney star.

"Before the lawsuit, Hollywood seemed to be willing to put LaBeouf's past behavior in the rear-view mirror. Following the success of Honey Boy, Marvel was even eying LaBeouf for a superhero role, according to reports that surfaced as recently as this summer, though, at the time, insiders told Variety that there was initial interest, but a meeting never took place and discussions never ensued," the report read.

There have been previous reports about LaBeouf being considered for numerous roles including Marc Spector in Moon Knight. However, that role has since been given to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor Oscar Isaac. Not surprisingly, some believe that Isaac was chosen because Disney is well aware of LaBeouf's behavior.

Earlier in December, FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit against LaBeouf alleging the actor of sexual battery as well as verbal and physical abuse. The suit accused LaBeouf of violent attacks that included strangulation. In addition to that, the allegations in the lawsuit include "infecting FKA Twigs with an STD and shooting stray dogs with a gun to get into character for his film The Tax Collector."
