Marvel Confirms Gamora Being Capable Of Killing An Asgardian

Zoe Saldana's Gamora might have played the troubled daughter of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, but Marvel fans also know the character as one of the fiercest and deadliest women in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While Gamora's strength seems a bit debatable when she's compared to Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), a new tidbit by Marvel Studio lets fans know that the deceased daughter of the Mad Titan Thanos actually has the power to take out an Asgardian with a swing of her sword.

Gamora's entry in the Marvel Studios Visual Dictionary puts the spotlight on the various abilities of Thanos favorite daughter in the MCU, and in it, readers get to learn a little bit more about the Guardian of the Galaxy's retractable sword. Interestingly enough, Gamora's sword is named the "Godslayer," and for good reason too. Gamora's weapon of choice can actually lead an Asgardian God to death.

A Marvel fan just recently shared the Marvel Studios Visual Dictionary's entry on Gamora on Reddit, and sharing a few pictures of the pages focused on Thanos' Daughter, the post highlights the ability of Gamora's sword.

"Gamora's retractable sword, 'Godslayer,' is so named as it can kill even an Asgardian. When faced with the monstrous energy-draining Abilisk, Gamora uses Godslayer to slice the giant beast's throat," the entry reads.

That's a pretty impressive feat. While fans were able to see some of Gamora's fighting chops in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and Vol 2, some wondered why Thanos would dub her as one of the fiercest women in the galaxy. Now we know why.

We can't wait to see whether Gamora returns from the dead in Avengers 4.

Avengers 4 premieres May 3, 2019.
