Marvel Concept Artist Shares Original Design for Smart Hulk in Avengers: Endgame

Marvel fans were certainly surprised by Hulk's appearance in Avengers: Endgame. Unlike the angry green Avenger that fans have come to know, Hulk took on a much milder appearance in the second installment in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie. Hulk took on Mark Ruffalo's face in Endgame, wearing his clothes and glasses because he had merged together with Bruce Banner during the five-year gap after the Avengers' first attempt at undoing Thanos' Decimation.

As it turns out, this smart look wasn't always going to be featured in Endgame. Early concept art designs for the Hulk featured the Avenger going around shirtless like he usually does – though this time, he has some glasses on.

Marvel concept artist Jerad Marantz just recently shared a design of Hulk that he created for Endgame, and in it, fans get to see a leaner, though shirtless Hulk. Check out the design right here:

This version of the Hulk might have been more attuned to what fans have been used to seeing in the MCU, though the glasses seem quite new on the Avenger.

Ultimately, the Russos made the right decision by making the Hulk fully clothed in Endgame. Giving the Hulk a shirt to wear and a few other accessories really hammer in the idea that the Hulk had finally merged together with Bruce Banner to become a smarter version of himself.

What do you think? Would you have wanted a shirtless version of Hulk in Endgame? Or do you prefer the Professor Hulk that the Russos presented in the film? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
