Marvel Brings Back the West Coast Avengers, Adds Two Hawkeyes

It's been teased for years but Marvel is finally going to bring back the West Coast Avengers with a twist. No, the twist isn't that there will be two Hawkeyes in the group but that it will take a New Warriors-like approach and give the group a reality show. Considering how the group has been in Los Angeles, even in the early days, this was probably a smart move.

Fans always look forward to the rosters of these groups and they will be pleasantly surprised by what they see here. Both Hawkeyes - Clint Barton and Kate Bishop - will be joined by Quentin Quire, fresh off Generation X, Gwenpool, America Chavez, and Kate's boyfriend Johnny. Simply put, this is one of the odder Avengers groups we've seen in a while and it looks like one hell of a ride.

The series has a killer creative team in writer Kelly Thompson and artist Stefano Caselli. Fans will like this since Thompson previously wrote the ongoing solo adventures of Kate Bishop in Hawkeye, which was recently nominated for an Eisner. Caselli is coming off a stellar Iron Man run and has previously worked on All-New Inhumans and Amazing Spider-Man.

West Coast Avengers #1 will hit comic shelves on August 22.
