Marvel and Star Trek Writer Wants to See a 'Future Imperfect' Hulk Movie in the MCU

Peter David is known for a number of writing contributions, whether it's his Incredible Hulk and X-Factor runs with Marvel or his Star Trek novels, David has made his name quite known in the geek community. David has gained a lot of acclaim over the past few years and that won't stop anytime soon, though, in an interesting bit, the writer was actually asked about what he would like to see in the MCU during DragonCon 2019 (via ComicBook.com).

Anyone who has read his comics in the past won't be shocked to know that he wants to see a Future Imperfect film. He once wrote a two-part prestige series of the same name that had Hulk taking on an evil version of himself from the future called The Maestro, who has remained as one of the more popular versions of the character.

Here's his full statement:

"Now, I'm hoping that they wind up doing Future Imperfect, which I think would be freaking awesome. I think Future Imperfect would make a fantastic Hulk movie."

Considering how many times The Maestro has returned, including a Secret Wars tie-in mini-series and a guest appearance as a villain in Old Man Logan, we wouldn't be too surprised to see a film of this magnitude adapted in the future. After all, Marvel is now more open to visiting the multiverse, especially with the announcement of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

It would be awesome to see a Hulk-on-Hulk fight on the big screen, even if the current version of Hulk has a weaker arm these days. I would really like to see Marc Ruffalo acting as both versions of Hulk, which would add a lot of intensity to this interaction. Or, for the sake of fun, make it Edward Norton.

Black Widow is the next MCU film coming out, slated for a May 1, 2020 release. Would you guys want to see a Future Imperfect movie?
