Mark Ruffalo Did the Motion Capture for Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok

Mark Ruffalo has been in the spotlight lately, thanks to his comments about a possible solo Hulk movie and the upcoming She-Hulk Disney+ series coming out but the actor has also given fans some interesting insight on his big appearance in Thor: Ragnarok. Ruffalo was able to flesh out his version of Hulk a lot in the movie but director Taika Waititi revealed that he insisted on doing motion-capture for the green goliath, which is pretty cool.

Speaking with Variety, Waititi talked about how Ruffalo had very strong opinions about Hulk and how he would do certain actions, like talk. This is pretty fun news since it shows how much the actor wanted to be in-tune with the character. Plus, it must have been fun smashing things while wearing a ridiculous motion-capture suit and saying things like "big monster." Hilarious.

"He has very strong opinions about what Hulk would say and how he would say it. People assume, ‘Oh, well it's a CGI character. Why would an actor do the movements?' But he insisted on doing all the work in motion capture. All of that stuff is him, dressed in those ridiculous pajamas that you have to wear with ping-pong balls on his head."

With Ruffalo expected to return for more Hulk-related antics in the MCU, we can't wait to see what happens. Avengers: Endgame revealed that Hulk is now loved by the public, something that can't be said about other Marvel timelines. Will that all change when She-Hulk comes? We'll have to wait and see.

She-Hulk is expected to come to Disney+ in 2022. Thor: Ragnarok is now available on digital platforms.
