A new report from Variety clarified Ruffalo's recent comments regarding his potential MCU return in Captain America: Brave New World.

According to the outlet's multiple sources, the actor is actually not part of the upcoming MCU film. He misspoken during the interview as he thought he was agreeing that it was one of the franchise's next films.

Ruffalo has been notorious for accidentally revealing spoilers for upcoming MCU releases in the past so this situation adds to the levity of the misunderstanding that happened.

Fortunately, they were able to make a correction and clarify the actor's comments before the news spread even further of his now-untrue involvement in the MCU film.

It doesn't help that characters from The Incredible Hulk are set to appear in the film and it's also been rumored that the Red Hulk will be introduced which is why it's not out-of-question that Ruffalo could be part of the film.

However, with this confirmation, fans no longer need to expect any appearances from Ruffalo in the film even with the connections and his future in the franchise remains uncertain.

Captain America: Brave New World is slated for release in theaters on February 14, 2025.
