Mark Millar Wants Blade to be Rebooted

With Black Panther being credited as the first black superhero movie, a lot of fans are going back to point at Wesley Snipes' Blade for having the original title back in the 90s. Comic guru Mark Millar has come out on Twitter to say that it's high time the vampire hunter franchise got a reboot.

There were already rumors going around that there was a Blade reboot in the works, but so far, we haven't been getting any significant updates. At some point people thought Blade was going to be another addition to the Marvel Netflix heroes including Daredevil and Luke Cage.

Though the movie was well-received when it came out, Blade has actually aged pretty badly over the years. Besides the tacky trench coats and Matrix outfits, there are just some lines that are so cringe-worthy you can't imagine them being put in a modern blockbuster today.

Not to mention Wesley Snipes was notoriously uncooperative as the franchise trudged along. Patton Oswalt had revealed that on the set of Blade: Trinity, Snipes wanted everyone to refer to him as ‘Blade' and only communicated via post-it notes.

Though vampires may have lost their spark in the box office as of late, I can imagine Marvel doing a good update for the character. I just hope they don't hand the property over to Marvel TV. We all saw what happened with Inhumans.
