Mark Hamill Welcomes Lando Calrissian Back To Star Wars: Episode IX

Happy Birthday, Billy Dee Williams! The Star Wars: Episode IX actor is celebrating his 81st birthday on April 6 and there's no better person to give him an awesome greeting other than Mark Hamill. The real Luke Skywalker has just posted an amazing tribute to his The Empire Strikes Back co-star and welcomed Lando Calrissian back to Star Wars.

Hamill posted the awesome tribute to Williams on his official Twitter account. Take a look at the tweet below.

"SHOUT OUT to Billy Dee Williams (@realbdw) for no other reason other than his decades of excellence, being a loyal friend & the very personification of effortless...C-O-O-O-O-O-L," Hamill wrote before adding the hashtag #WelcomeBackLando.

The post features several photos of Williams but one certainly stands out. It features Williams with Hamill in what could be the set of Episode IX. Although both are out of costume, it's still great to remember that Luke and Lando are together again. Unfortunately, it's also unlikely that they will be reunited in Episode IX.

There have been a few reports confirming that Williams' Episode IX scene will be alongside Oscar Isaac and John Boyega. Although Chewbacca will reportedly be part of the sequence as well, there is no word on whether Lando and Luke will actually share a scene. Nevertheless, seeing Williams play Lando once again is certainly a treat for Star Wars fans.

There is no word yet on when the Episode IX official title and trailer will be revealed. However, there is a huge possibility that both will finally be announced at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration.

Star Wars Celebration takes place at McCormick Place in Chicago from April 11 to 15. Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled for release on December 20.
