Mark Hamill Reveals What Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s Green Milk Is Actually Made Of

Blue milk might have been a popular Star Wars drink ever since it first appeared in Star Wars: A New Hope, but thanks to Star Wars: The Last Jedi, interest has turned over to another version of the cosmic diary drink – green milk.

In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, fans are greeted with a rather unsettling scene when Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) goes about his day-to-day activities on Ahch-To while Rey (Daisy Ridley) tries to pester the Star Wars legend in hopes that he'll help in the Resistance's battle against the First Order. Trying to shake off Rey, Luke continues with his chores, which includes milking a Thala siren and drinking its green milk – a scene which disturbed a viewers in cinemas.

Taking to Twitter, Mark Hamill was asked by a fan what green milk actually tasted like. The Star Wars legend wasn't the least bit coy about his answer. Apparently, what seemed like disgusting milk was actually just coconut water made to look green in post-production.

"The green milk was just regular coconut water dyed green in post-production. #TrueStory #Yum ?," Hamill replied on Twitter.

The revelation is rather interesting. Without knowing how it was produced, one would assume that Thala Siren's milk was actually regular milk died green. But no, it's coconut milk colored green in post-production.

Of course, fans can still taste the Star Wars drink for themselves. Disneyland is serving blue and green milk in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, its new Star Wars theme park.

Lucasfilm's latest release, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, is set to premiere on December 20, 2019.
