Mark Hamill Reunites With Lightsaber from New Hope in Pop Culture Quest

Star Wars: Episode VII's Mark Hamill is going to reunite with his original prop saber in the next episode of Pop Culture Quest.

While Luke Skywalker managed to get his hands on his old lightsaber thanks to Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Hamill hasn't seen his original lightsaber prop in years – that is until Comic-Con HQ's web series managed to find it for him. Geek Tyrant has an exclusive sneak peek from the episode titled Raider of the Lost Props and in it we get to see Hamill get his hands on the original lightsaber prop that he used in Return of the Jedi.

There was a time before the internet where collecting required a boots-on-ground approach. Collector Brandon Alinger took this phase to the next level when he convinced his family to travel to Tunisia in search of movie props. Follow along as Brandon explains the extreme lengths he's gone to obtain some of the most notable movie props in the history of Hollywood Cinema.

According to Comic-Con HQ, the saber was one that Alec Guinness's Obi-Wan Kenobi had used in the very first Star Wars movie, A New Hope, making the prop a relic that could cost a fortune today. What's even more priceless however is seeing Hamill's eyes light up briefly as he picks up the saber and then discuss how the special effects team worked the saber effects in the Star Wars original trilogy.
