Mark Hamill Reacts To John Cleese Not Recognizing Luke Skywalker

There is little doubt that Luke Skywalker is one of the most recognizable characters in the galaxy, thanks to the success of the Star Wars films. However, some people still don't know who Mark Hamill is. John Cleese has somehow admitted that he has no idea who the Star Wars: Episode IX actor is, and Hamill has the perfect response.

Cleese is best known for playing the hilarious Basil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers, the British sitcom that originated from Monty Python's encounters with a rude hotel owner. However, Cleese had revealed that it was difficult to get Fawlty Towers greenlit back in the 1970s.

One fan responded to Cleese's tweet with a gif of Luke Skywalker brushing off some debris from his shoulder in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The Fish Called Wanda star immediately had an awesome answer to the post.

At this point, we shouldn't be surprised if Hamill took notice. He immediately tweeted back to Cleese's post with a tribute to the actor's most memorable character.

There's no hostility here. Hamill has always admitted that he is a huge fan of Cleese and Monty Python. Needless to say, we are looking forward to more interactions between the two.

Hamill is certainly on a roll this year. In addition to reprising his role as Luke Skywalker in Episode IX, he has just debuted as the gruff Talus in Knightfall Season 2. Meanwhile, Cleese is lending his voice to the animated film Arctic Justice: Thunder Squad (or Arctic Dogs), which also stars Jeremy Renner, James Franco, and Alec Baldwin.
