Mark Hamill Pays Tribute To Carrie Fisher With Awesome Fan Art

It has been two years since the unexpected passing of Carrie Fisher yet people still couldn't get over the fact that we have lost our beloved Star Wars princess. So it's no surprise that fans honored Fisher on her second death anniversary. Perhaps the most awesome and deeply touching tribute came from her Star Wars co-star Mark Hamill.

The Star Wars: Episode IX actor took to Twitter to share a truly fitting fan art of Fisher with her beloved dog, Gary. Hamill also had a wonderful caption that honored the real Princess Leia and her supporters. Take a look at the post below.

"It makes me so happy to know how overwhelmed & touched she would be by the worldwide outpouring of love & affection for her today..." Hamill wrote. He added the hashtags #AlwaysWithUs, #CarrieOnForever and #KeepMovingThingsAreBoundToBeImproving.

The world lost Fisher on December 27, 2016, because of sudden cardiac arrest due to sleep apnea and atherosclerosis. She had already finished work on Star Wars: The Last Jedi by the time she had passed. Fisher's unused footage will be incorporated into Star Wars: Episode IX, which is set to be her final appearance as Leia Organa.

Hamill and his fellow cast members are still working on Episode IX. It is still unclear what will happen to Leia in the highly anticipated sequel. Nevertheless, there is little doubt that director J.J. Abrams has something great planned for the beloved character.

Star Wars: Episode IX has not yet been given an official title. The film is scheduled for release on December 20, 2019.
