Mark Hamill Gets Candid About Keeping Lucasfilm Secrets

Like Marvel, Lucasfilm is tight with its secret policy about its ongoing or upcoming projects. Mark Hamill, who’s one of the incredible actors who made Star Wars the franchise it is, recently attested to the belief.

In a new interview with Esquire, Hamill was asked about his involvement with Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s upcoming Star Wars movie, alongside Daisy Ridley. But the actor gave a guarded answer.

“One thing you learn working for Lucasfilm: everything is confidential. Everything is confidential. So, if I were involved, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. And if I were not involved, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. So, I don’t know. We’ll all find out together, I guess.” he said.

Given that fans are still keen to see more of Hamill in the million-dollar franchise, the actor also commented on his participation in a possibly young Luke Skywalker series with him but de-aged.

“People say, ‘Oh, now you’re going to be able to do a whole series of Luke post-Return of the Jedi.’ I said, ‘I don’t think so.’ First of all, they don’t need to tell those stories, but if they do, they could get an age-appropriate actor.” Hamill explained.

With Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher having recently received her long-overdue Walk of Fame star, Hamill did not escape asking a question about his onscreen best friend, especially after he made a speech at the ceremony.

“I have to tell you, we had a tumultuous relationship. We could be as loving and supportive as possible, then we could have big arguments and say, “Well, I never want to speak to you again,” and not speak for six months. But every time you came back, you picked up right where you left off. We had a connection that is special,” the actor opened up.

Hamill is currently starring in the action comedy The Machine, and about his Star Wars future, fans can only tune in and hope they can see more of the actor in the media opera franchise.
