Mark Hamill Confirms His Star Wars: Episode IX Appearance

Lucasfilm

Mark Hamill has confirmed, as many suspected, that he will reprise his role as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode IX.

Over on Twitter, Hamill confirmed his return in the currently untitled Episode IX, expecting that his confirmation will be followed by an "avalanche of questions" but his response to any other question will be, "EPISODE NEIN COMMENT."

This follows the report that Carrie Fisher's Leia will also appear Episode IX. Director J.J. Abrams will include unused footage of Leia from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Hamill has played Luke Skywalker since Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, so with his confirmation, it makes sense that he will be a part of the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga.

Star Wars: Episode IX is set to release in theaters on December 20, 2019.
