Mark Hamill Shares Heartbreaking Yoda BTS Video Taken From Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Star Wars fans were pretty surprised to see Yoda turn up in Star Wars: The Last Jedi back in 2017. Sure, there were multiple fan theories regarding possible cameos in the sequel to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but fans found it hard to believe that Yoda would appear in the film.

Now, Star Wars Legend Mark Hamill gives us a look at a behind-the-scenes video taken from The Last Jedi featuring Luke Skywalker and Yoda. According to the actor's tweet, Hamill was getting emotional after seeing Yoda. Being the natural joker that he is (pun intended), the Star Wars legend joked that it was something else that got him chocking up during the scene.

"Mark Hamill gets emotional when @TheFrankOzJam calls him ‘gorgeous,'" Hamill writes in his post.

In the video, we get to see Hamill filming the reunion between Luke Skywalker and his Master Yoda.

"Oh my god. It's really getting to me," Hamill says in the video. "I'm still upset that he hasn't aged a day. I've aged tragically."

Hearing him lament about his looks, Oz decides to call him "gorgeous."

It's such a sweet moment, really.

While there has been a vocal minority against The Last Jedi, many other fans enjoyed the film for its subversiveness and for its ability to take the franchise to new directions. Some even loved how the film closed Luke's character arc – though there were others who would rather see the Star Wars legacy character doing cool moves as a benevolent old Jedi instead of seeing him as a human being.

Lucasfilm's next entry, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, premieres December 20, 2019.
