Marilyn Manson Removed from American Gods Season 3 After Evan Rachel Wood's Abuse Allegations

Evan Rachel Wood has just revealed that Marilyn Manson had abused her throughout their three-year relationship. In response, American Gods has decided to remove the musician's cameo from an upcoming Season 3 episode in support of the Westworld actress.

On Monday, February 1, Wood posted a message on her official Instagram account that confirmed that Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, is her abuser. According to the post, Manson groomed Wood when she was a teenager and "horrifically abused" her for several years.

"I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail," Wood wrote. She then stated that she intends to "expose this dangerous man" and call out the industries that have enabled him.

Not surprisingly, Wood's post led to Manson being dropped by his music label Loma Vista Records. In addition to that, American Gods released a statement confirming that Manson's performance will be removed from an upcoming episode of Season 3.

American Gods isn't the only show that is making drastic changes to cut ties with Manson. io9 reports that Creepshow has also decided to pull an episode that features the musician and will replace a segment where he plays a major role.

Manson has since responded to Wood's claims, posting on Instagram to state that the actress' allegations are "horrible distortions of reality."

"My intimate relations have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners," Manson wrote. Although the post doesn't mention Wood, it was clearly addressed to the actress as well as the other women who have come forward.

Wood is expected to return in the fourth season of Westworld. However, production on the series has been halted due to COVID-19. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
