Margot Robbie Pushes for Her Harley Quinn to Have Romance with Poison Ivy

Margot Robbie has become iconic in the role of Harley Quinn ever since her introduction in 2016's Suicide Squad. For years, we've seen the character grow in the DCEU from being Joker's girlfriend into an independent woman of her own. Now, a lot of fans are clamoring to see the character have a romance with Poison Ivy. Will we ever see that happen in live-action?

In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Robbie was asked whether she would like to see her DC character pursue a romance with Poison Ivy just like what fans have been clamoring for. She revealed that she has indeed been pushing for it to happen for years.

"I have been pushing for that for years. I cannot tell you how hard I've been pushing for that. I want it too." she said.

The Oscar-nominated actress was also asked if there is an actress she has in mind who can play the role opposite her Harley Quinn. While she didn't have an exact name in mind, she iterated that it is an idea that she would really love to do.

"Honestly, when I pictured, I always picture like Poison Ivy in the comics," she added. "I don't really actually picture an actress doing it, but I agree, that would be so good."

So far, DC Studios has not made any announcement yet about the future of Robbie's Harley Quinn in the DCU and whether she is already set to make an appearance in a future project.

Considering her ties with James Gunn after working together on The Suicide Squad, we can safely assume that she is part of their DCU plan and it wouldn't be surprising if they already have something cooking about her return to the franchise.

Nevertheless, it is exciting to hear that Robbie herself is interested to have her character get involved in a relationship with Poison Ivy and it would be curious to see whether it will actually happen. If it does, a lot of fans will certainly be delighted.
