There's been a collective desire from Star Wars diehards to see the re-emergence of characters who were relegated to the Legends universe aka the franchise's non-canon expanded universe.
From Darth Revan to Galen Marek aka Starkiller, there's still potential for a lot of characters to once again be acknowledged in the main continuity, and according to a hot new rumor, that might be the case with the upcoming film project currently being developed by Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige.
Mara Jade Skywalker Could Make Return to Star Wars Canon in Kevin Feige's Upcoming Film
Despite Kathleen Kennedy's previous claim that Feige's film project was never in the works, Twitter insider MyTimeToShineHello says that it's still pretty much in development. While key details weren't disclosed, the mystery film is said to feature a character fans have been clamoring to see.
Interestingly, the tipster claims the film will mark the live-action debut of Mara Jade, Luke Skywalker's love interest who has been part of the franchise's non-canon universe for years.
Before dropping the bombshell, the popular scooper teased fans about Kim Kardashian's potential casting as the famed Legends character. She quickly backpedaled on her remark though after stirring much controversy.

For the uninitiated, Mara Jade is a Force-sensitive human who was raised by Emperor Palpatine. At one point, she served as Darth Sidious' assassin before later becoming a Jedi, sitting upon the Jedi High Council.
Mara and Luke also have a son they named Ben as a tribute to Obi-Wan Kenobi. The character has appeared in a number of novels as well as video games and has generated a cult following amongst Star Wars diehards.
The possibility of Mara finally finding her way back to the main canon sounds equally exciting and intriguing. Of course, it won't be an easy task for Lucasfilm to just bring her back without affecting the Skywalker Saga's continuity. If the rumors end up being true, we're hoping Feige and his creative team can actually pull it off.
