Shueisha recently announced that it will re-release its World History Manga series, which will feature historical figures drawn by iconic manga artists on the volume covers.

While this is not a new series, Shueisha is re-releasing it to modern audiences with updated covers that should delight both history buffs and manga readers alike.

Weekly Shonen Jump publisher Shueisha is no stranger to historical manga, as it has released both Japanese history and world history titles in previous years.

Now, Shueisha is re-releasing its World History Manga series as part of the publisher’s 100th anniversary celebration. This series was originally released 22 years ago and was a big hit in Japan.

While the contents likely won’t change, the covers are new, as Shueisha tapped lots of popular manga artists.

For instance, Spy x Family creator Tatsuya Endo drew Winston Churchill and Adolf Hitler for the World War II volume.

Meanwhile, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure creator Hirohiko Araki recreated the iconic Napoleon Crossing the Alps painting by Jacques-Louis David for the French Revolution volume.
