Warner Bros. is revealed to have a Supergirl movie in the works and 22 Jumpstreet writer Oren Uziel has been attached to work on the script back in 2018. Since then, there hasn't been a word about casting and even producers, but one actor reveals if he'd be willing to reprise his role for the Kara Danvers standalone film.
In a recent interview with Gold Coast Bulletin, Man of Steel star Michael Shannon was asked about speculations of him returning as General Zod in the film, but he admits that it's the first time he has heard about it. "Wow, that's interesting," he said. "I swear to God, I am not kidding — you are breaking this news to me." The actor admits that it has been a while, and that he isn't sure if he could do "all the movies," joking about how he's "a little older and creakier now."
Though Shannon claims he won't be in the film, he hopes that director Zack Snyder would be involved with the Supergirl movie. "Also, I have to say in complete and utter seriousness that I just loved working with Zack Snyder and that was a big part of it for me," the actor said. "I don't know who's making this Supergirl movie but I really treasure that experience with Zack. He's a hell of a guy."
There hasn't been any updates about the Supergirl movie so it remains to be seen whether or not Shannon will reprise his role as General Zod. What is quite sure is that Snyder being involved with the WB film is unlikely, given that the studio is shifting into another direction in the DCEU.
