Major Stranger Things Season 3 Spoiler Dropped During MTV Awards

The plot of Stranger Things Season 3 is still a huge mystery but it looks like a major spoiler has been dropped at the recent MTV Movie and TV Awards. Unfortunately, it looks like things couldn't be going too well for one of the main characters.

WARNING: Possible spoilers from Stranger Things Season 3 are listed below so proceed with caution.

Some of the cast of Stranger Things were in attendance at the MTV Awards in Santa Monica, California to present one of the awards. Interestingly, Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, and Gaten Matarazzo made a point to try and avoid letting any Season 3 spoilers loose. However, at the last minute, Matarazzo joked, "Good, now I don't need to tell them Dustin dies".

Oh yes, he went there. Schnapp and Wolfhard reacted strongly to Matarazzo's slip but were cut off as the nominees for the award they were presenting were revealed.

So could this really mean that Stranger Things Season 3 will be the last one for Dustin Henderson? It's certainly a depressing thought considering that Dustin is one of the best characters on the series. However, Matarazzo's new project might be the reason why Dustin is being killed off so soon.

It was previously reported that Matarazzo will be hosting a new prank show that will air on Netflix. This could mean that the young actor will no longer have time to commit to Stranger Things.

Of course, it's still possible that the whole MTV Awards "spoiler" might simply be a joke and Dustin will survive the third season. Let's just hope that Dustin makes it through the upcoming season.

Stranger Things Season 3 will premiere on Netflix on July 4.
