Major Magic: The Gathering Event Cancelled Due to Coronavirus Outbreak

Channelfireball Events has announced that the Magic: The Gathering event, MagicFest Turin, Italy is cancelled for the safety of MagicFest attendees, and it's likely due to the coronavirus outbreak in Italy.

"The safety of MagicFest attendees is of the utmost importance to us and we have been monitoring the situation in Italy closely," CFB Events announced on Twitter. "Out of an abundance of caution, we are cancelling."

"We regret any disappointment this may cause, and are actively exploring different dates and cities in Europe for rescheduling this event," CFB Events added in the statement. "If you have already registered for events or packages at #MTGTurin, those purchases will be automatically refunded."

According to NPR.org, 650 cases and 17 deaths in Italy have been reported i due to the Coronavirus, so it's good that CFB Events is putting the safety of Magic players first.

As much as people want to travel to play MagicFest around the world, many would probably choose to play the game online instead (MTG Arena or Magic Online) for their safety
