Mahershala Ali's Blade Reboot Reportedly Eyeing Dark Knight Star for Whistler

We already know that Mahershala Ali will be playing Eric Brooks in the Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot of Blade. But who will portray his mentor Abraham Whistler? A new report suggests that Marvel Studios already have their eye on a screen legend and he has previously portrayed a similar mentor in The Dark Knight trilogy.

So far, the only confirmed name in the Blade reboot has been Ali. The film does not have a director or screenwriter attached to it just yet. However, We Got This Covered reports that Marvel already has plans to cast Whistler in the remake. Interestingly, the studio is reportedly hoping to bring in Michael Caine as the vampire hunter.

Caine would be an interesting choice for Whistler considering that the veteran actor has previously played Alfred Pennyworth in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. On the other hand, this could mean that Whistler will simply appear as a mentor and not someone who would join Blade in action. Nevertheless, it would be great to see Caine joining the MCU as one of the most memorable comic book characters.

For now, Marvel has yet to confirm the possible casting. With that in mind, it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

Marvel Studios has not yet announced any new plans for the Blade reboot other than Ali's casting. In addition to that, the film has not yet been given an official production start date nor a release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
