Mahershala Ali's Blade Gets Updated Look in Awesome New Image

We all recognize Blade as the vampire slayer in a trenchcoat and head-to-toe leather. After all, that's the look that Wesley Snipes wore in the original films. But will Mahershala Ali sport a completely different look in his own Marvel Cinematic Universe flick? A new fan art imagines the Alita: Battle Angel star getting an updated costume for the upcoming MCU movie.

The fan art was created by digital artist Dalton Barrett and has been shared on Instagram. You can check it out below.

It's an interesting look that covers up Blade's arms and places his weapons in easy-to-reach spots. Although the practical and efficient design makes sense considering that the vampire hunter should always be combat-ready, we're still missing the trenchcoat that has been part of Blade's look for so long. After all, it made him look cool and easily hid the weapons he had. Let's hope that the character will get a practical look but still maintain the trenchcoat for that purpose.

For now, it is unclear when Ali will begin filming for the Blade reboot. The film itself has not yet been given an official release date and so far, Ali is the only name attached to the project. Nevertheless, we're hoping that there will be some updates from Marvel Studios before the end of the year.

What do you think of Blade's new look? Should Ali get rid of the trenchcoat or keep it for the reboot? Sound off in the comments below.
