Magic: The Gathering WPN Qualifiers in China Canceled Due to Coronavirus Outbreak

Wizards of the Coast has announced that they're cancelling the Wizards Play Network Qualifiers in mainland China due to the coronavirus outbreak, to ensure the safety of Magic players. The WPNQs were scheduled to be held leading up to March 29.

The announcement was made on Twitter on Wednesday night.

"As a part of this change, all WPNQ Season 3 events held from Apr 4 to Jul 26 in mainland China will offer 2 invitations rather than 1," Wizards said. "The top 2 players at each event will receive invitations to Players Tour Series 3."

"Wizards of the Coast is prepared to make adjustments to events that are part of our programs when the safety of our players is called into question, and we will act and communicate such changes promptly"

The WPNQ is part of the qualifying events to attend the Players Tour Series Two, alongside the Magic Premier Series qualifiers (MPSQ) and Players Tour Qualifiers (PTQ).
