Magic: The Gathering Arena Reportedly Coming to Mobile in 2020

Magic: The Gathering Arena's first year turned out to be strong enough to drive Hasbro's revenue significantly in 2019, and now it looks like the company has plans to bring the free-to-play collectible card game to mobile this year.

On Tuesday morning before the stock market opened, Hasbro held a conferrence call for investors about its fourth-quarter earnings and overall 2019 performance.

"For MTG Arena we saw great growth for the brand throughout the year," Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner said during the call. "Players have played 1.8 billion games thus far. We have 72% growth in new players for the year. On average, Arena players spend eight hours a week on the game."

According to Hasbro, Magic's revenue grew 30% in 2019, with double digit growth in tabletop, and there's 72% growth in new players.

In addition to revenue reports, Hasbro also said that they have plans to bring MTG Arena to mobile in 2020 (via Hipsters of the Coast).

This is great news for those who want to play MTG Arena anywhere they want, but of course nothing can beat the experience of playing this game on the PC. Wizards of the Coast already confirmed that they're also planning to bring MTG Arena to Mac.

While MTG Arena is still not available on mobile, there's actually an unoffiical way you can play it on any mobile device.
