Magic: The Gathering Policy Changes For Ravnica Allegiance Revealed

Wizards of the Coast

With the release of Ravnica Allegiance this week, it's time to remind Magic: The Gathering players of the policy changes that will come to effect with the new set.

The official Magic Judges blog has revealed the new policy changes that will come with the release of Ravnica Allegiance. Here's a quick summary of the policy changes

> If players didn't know they violate the rules about bribery/wagering, they will get a match loss intead of a disqualification, so new/casual players won't get DQd if someone tries to bribe them.
> Default actions from triggers don't "just happen" anymore, opponent chooses whether they go on the stack. Missing a trigger from one of the five Pact spells no longer auto-kills you.
> You don't get warnings for missing triggers you didn't cause (Tabernacle of Pendell Haven).

> If you pass turn and then time is called, the opponent gets Turn 0 regardless of whether they are performing actions in your end step. This avoids players stalling the clock.
> Certain delayed triggers have an exception (Prized Amalgam, Obzedat).
> In Limited, when the player is missing cards in the deck, and they're with the sideboard, the player shuffles in cards chosen at random from the cards in the sideboard that were originally in the main deck.

That's good to know that they've updated the policy for bribery to protect casual players from being baited. Last year, a player was disqualified from Grand Prix Houston this way.

Ravnica Allegiance will be officially released this Friday.
