Magic: The Gathering Just Announced The Official Release & Pre-Release Event Dates of 2 New Sets

With Throne of Eldraine already released, Magic: The Gathering fans are looking forward to the forthcoming expansions next year: Theros: Beyond Death, Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths, Core Set 2021, and Zendikar Rising. Recently, Wizards of the Coast has announced the release dates for the next two Standard-legal MTG sets.

Over on Magic Europe's Twitter page, Wizards of the Coast has revealed the release dates for Theros: Beyond Death (January 24, 2020) and Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths (April 24, 2020). They also announcedfor the dates of the pre-release events for both sets: January 17-19 for Theros: Beyond Death, and April 17-19 for Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths.

Wizards of the Coast hasn't revealed much about the next two MTG sets but so far, we know that Elspeth is returning from the dead in Theros: Beyond Death thanks to a promotional artwork featuring the character, and all we know about Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths is that it's a "monster world" that will let players create their own monsters and will feature "one of the craziest" MTG mechanics ever.

While Wizards of the Coast hasn't revealed the official release dates for Core Set 2021 and Zendikar Rising, they will most likely be released in July and October, respectively.
