Magic: The Gathering Game Store Busted For Leaking Double Masters

Games Laboratory, a local game store in Melbourne, Australia, recently got in trouble after Wizards of the Coast busted the LGS for opening Magic: The GatheringDouble Masters products ahead of when they were officially revealed.

On a Facebook post, Games Laboratory shared a post admitting to their mistake of breaking the contract

"Essentially, we opened Double Masters packs on stream before the full spoiler season had been completed," Games Laboratory said in a statement. "It was not the act of one person, but a series of unfortunate missteps."

"In doing so, we not only broke our contract with WotC, by divulging confiential information, but we also harmed the work the WotC team and their affiliates had put in behind the scenes to give other folks like us in the WPN the opportunity to be part of the unfolding spoiler season," Games Laboratory wrote.

Games Laboratory revealed that WotC has removed them from the Wizards Play Network (WPN) for three months, so that means no promos, no MTG Arena codes, and no Zendikar Rising pre-release events among other benefits for the store.

Loss of WPN status for three months doesn't seem much especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
