Magic: The Gathering Designer Just Started A TikTok Account, and Fans Are Loving The Videos

Senior Magic: The Gathering Designer Gavin Verhey has just joined TikTok, the popular video-sharing social networking app, so if you're an MTG player looking for more ways to get entertained while in quarantine, you may want to check out his witty and fun TikTok videos that only Magic players would probably get.

Verhey released his first TikTok video two days ago, and at the time of this writing, he already has three with almost 400 followers and 701 total Likes in the app.

Here's a screenshot of Verhey's TikTok page.

His first TikTok is about mana-flooding, a game state that happens when a player draws too many land cards. The video has racked up almost 7,000 views (at the time of this writing).

Another TikTok user who goes by @KessWylie on Twitter even responded with a clever TikTok video showing the cause of Verhey's mana-flood.

My personal favorite so far is Verhey's banana-crazed TikTok video in which he plays "Tasigur, the Golden Fang" while the table is being filled up by a pile of bananas because as fans would know, the Tasigur card features Chris Rahn's art with bananas on the shaman's plate, and he even has a perfect banana outfit. The music is also perfect: the part of Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl where she nonsensically talks about bananas Check it out:

Today, Verhey released his third TikTok video featuring the MTG deck archetypes of the Modern format in the tune of the music played in a Super Smash Bros. character selection screen:

I'm not much of a TikTok viewer or user myself, but if Verhey continues to make more Magic-themed clips on the social media app, I might have to check it out every once in a while. Of course, some members of the Magic community are not new to TikTok. There are some hilarious video clips filled with MTG references that fans will surely love, and I'm looking forward to seeing more Magic-related TikTok videos, especially Verhey's.
