The phenomenal Magic: The Gathering artist Seb McKinnon illustrated some marvelous works of art for the upcoming expansion, Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths, and with the preview season revealing new cards, now we get to see those artworks today, including the cave art-style artworks for the Mythos cards, the art for new art for "Nethroi, Apex of Death", and new art for "Essence Scatter".
First of all, let's take the time to appreciate the cave art-style art for the cycle of Mythos cards in Ikoria:
Over on his Twitter account, McKinnon shared the inspiration behind the Mythos artowkrs, and reveals that the famous Lascaux cave paintings became his starting point for the cave-style art he did for this set.
The Mythos works are McKinnon's first non-digital art he did for Magic, and he revealed how he created the "Mythos of Nethroi" art on his Twitter:

I assume that there are two other Mythos cards Wizards of the Coast haven't revealed yet.

I love Seb McKinnon's new artworks for Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths. He's definitely one of the greatest MTG artists ever! Hopefully, he's got more art for the set that we haven't seen yet.
