Magic: The Gathering Arena Gifting Players With Free 'Special Renewal' Cards

This September, Magic: The Gathering will have a Standard rotation that will dramatically alter the metagame of Magic Arena, Four sets will be leaving the format (Ixalan, Rivals of Ixalan, Dominaria, and Core Set 2019) while new cards from Throne of Eldraine will be legal in Standard format. Of course, many players would need new cards when rotation hits, and Wizards of the Coast is willing to help them by giving them free cards in Magic Arena.

As part of recent Magic ArenaState of the Beta, Wizards of the Coast announced that MTG Arena players who log in to the game before September 26, the day that Standard rotates out of Arena, will receive 10 rare or better individual card rewards for free. These MTG Arena cards will be from the Standard-legal sets after rotation, which are Guilds of Ravnica, Ravnica Allegiance, War of the Spark, Core Set 2020, and the upcoming fairy tale-themed set, Throne of Eldraine.

There will be a new Set Master with the release of Throne of Eldraine, and the renewal gift extends with additional rewards ot the first 25 levels in the form of booster packs and uncommon Individual Card Rewards.

Those who don't login before the designated date will only receive 12 Throne of Eldraine packs and two Mastery Orbs for completing these Set Mastery levels while those who logged in will receive these Set Mastery rewards: 14 Throne of Eldraine packs, 2 Mastery Orbs, 4 Standard Packs (Guilds of Ravnica, Ravnica Allegiance, War of the Spark, and Core Set 2020), and 20 Uncommon Individual Card Rewards. All renewal gift recipients will receive these additional rewards, and they don't need a Mastery Pass to get the rewards.

If you're planning to build a new Standard deck when Throne of Eldraine becomes available on Arena and when the Standard rotation comes, this is something you shouldn't miss.
