The upcoming film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga will explore what happened to the titular character's arm and why she lost her arm as depicted when we saw her in Fury Road.
The new Mad Max installment focuses on the origins of Furiosa around two decades before the events of Fury Road with Anya Taylor-Joy playing the role this time around.
Fans have been looking forward to the film as they want to learn more about the character and how she became a fearless figure as we've seen in Charlize Theron's depiction in the previous installment.

Anya Taylor-Joy Shares Her Reaction on How Furiosa Lost Her Arm
In a recent interview, Taylor-Joy opened up about her reaction when she read the scene in the script on how Furiosa lost her arm in the new film.
Theron's Furiosa in Fury Road never explained why she lost her arm, but she teased a heroic backstory behind it.
"It made sense to me because I think what's incredible about this character is she just refuses to die — really, she refuses. It made sense to me that she would lose her arm in the pursuit of something that she thought was bigger than herself," Taylor-Joy said.
"That made a lot of sense to me. The loss of the arm and the loss of the hair actually both were important steps that we had to take if we were going to be able to chart the journey of how this little girl became a character that now we all know and love."
George Miller on the Importance of Showing How Furiosa Lost Her Arm
Director George Miller also explained why it was important for them to explore how Furiosa lost her arm and understand how she became the character that we know and love today.
He also revealed that they already planned the backstory before Fury Road was even shot.
"How did she lose her arm? How did she make that thing? How did she get the skill to be a really good driver? All of those things we had to understand," the Oscar winner said.
"She's just not an action hero who turns up and can do it without us knowing why. So we had to understand all of that, how she was resourceful enough to be able to endure whatever came her way.
Miller continued, "And all of that had to be understood before we started. And that in order to shoot Fury Road, it was all decided back then."
It is pretty clear from Taylor-Joy and Miller's comments that there is an interesting backstory behind how Furiosa lost her arm and it's exciting to see how it all plays out once we see the film ourselves.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is set to arrive in theaters this May 24.
