The original Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter believes that Wonder Woman 3 could still be made under one major condition.

Despite the mixed reviews of Wonder Woman 1984, Warner Bros. and director Patty Jenkins moved forward with the development of a third movie that would have continued Gal Gadot's journey as the hero.

However, the plans were eventually canceled when James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios and decided to reboot the franchise again with new characters and actors.

In an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, Carter opened up about the possibility of Wonder Woman 3 still getting made despite the cancellation of the project years ago.

She shared her belief that the third movie could still happen if there was enough fan demand and outcry.

"I don’t think they want to do it unless there’s enough pressure from fans. I just don’t think they have the mind to do it. And I don’t understand that, because it seems to me that Wonder Woman is different from other characters," Carter said.

"She’s not just a superhero. Her whole thing is about peaceful solutions. She’s not aggressive to be aggressive. It’s a different story. It’s about inner strength, outer strength. I don’t know why they tabled it, because it’s a great franchise."

So far, DC Studios has not announced any plans to do another Wonder Woman movie although they are working on a TV series titled Paradise Lost, which is set in the all-female island of Themyscira before the birth of the hero.

Gadot is also not expected to reprise the role again in the DCU and there are no casting made yet regarding the new actress who could potentially take over the role in the franchise.

While there could be some fan outcry and demand for the third movie, at this point, it is highly unlikely that it will happen since the franchise has moved forward with a new direction that strays away from the DCEU.
