Lucasfilm will Reportedly Change The Mandalorian's Title After Season 4

The entire Star Wars fandom went absolutely berserk last week when rumors circulated online that the hit Disney+ series The Mandalorian will bid farewell after the forthcoming third season. There's a catch though as according to the report we published last August 26, Din Djarin and Grogu's adventures in the galaxy far, far away will still continue in a different show despite The Mandalorian's rumored cancelation.

As of writing, the original report first revealed by Twitter account Star Wars Only has yet to get an update. Now, Cinelinx's Editor-in-Chief Jordan Maison took to the social media platform to deliver a scoop of his own. According to him, he hasn't heard any plans about The Mandalorian's cancelation after Season 3 but he notes that the series is only going to run for one more season after that.

Interestingly, Maison claims that it isn't exactly the "end" of the show as Lucasfilm is just planning to change the title of the program after Season 4. He says that The Mandalorian will "morph into a 'new' show that sticks with the characters/time period, but under a new name." Of course, all the rumors that have been making the rounds all over social media have yet to be proven so take it with a grain of salt.

Assuming that the rumored title change is true, it's safe to assume that Lucasfilm wants to present a bigger story following Season 4 that not only revolves around "The Mandalorian" himself or even Grogu for that matter. I mean, Season 2 alone pretty much proved that the show's story tackles way more than just Din Djarin's origin and the Mandalore throne so to better fit the show's ever-evolving narrative, I guess changing the title is the "way" to go.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian Season 3 is expected to drop in early 2022.
