Luke Skywalker's epic cameo in The Mandalorian Season 2's finale episode has undoubtedly changed the course of the entire "Mandoverse" moving forward and the general belief amongst fans is that the famed Jedi master will once again show up in the future. Now, considering Luke is training Grogu aka Baby Yoda to unlock his hidden abilities, the chances of him returning to the franchise are extremely high.

However, the real question is, when and where? Following Skywalker's jaw-dropping appearance in The Mandalorian, several sites have claimed that Lucasfilm is actually developing a spinoff show which would revolve around the character and Baby Yoda's training sessions.

Now, the rumors are once again being fueled by Giant Freakin' Robot and according to their latest scoop, Luke will in fact return in his own series but instead of it taking place right after The Mandalorian Season 2, the show will reportedly be set after the events of Return of the Jedi, potentially leading to his appearance in "The Rescue".

Of course, just like any other rumor, you better take this one with a huge grain of salt but honestly, even if the alleged spinoff show doesn't materialize, I feel like it's almost guaranteed that Luke will make his way back to the hit Disney+ series. Hopefully, when that time comes, Lucasfilm won't have to rely on its CGI technology and would actually cast someone for the role. We already have a strong candidate to play Luke and all they have to do is pull the trigger.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian Season 3 is scheduled to begin production next month.
