Lucasfilm Releases C-3PO Reboot Clip From Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is going to get its home media release this month, and it looks like Lucasfilm is trying to add to the hype by sharing Episode IX clips online.

Not only do fans get to revisit Rey's (Daisy Ridley) high-flying encounter with Kylo Ren's (Adam Driver) ship on the desert planet of Pasaana, but they also get to revisit the scene where R2-D2 reboots C-3PO's memory. Fans who've seen The Rise of Skywalker (and we assume that all of the Star Wars fans reading this piece have already seen Episode IX) might remember the C-3PO reboot as a convenient way of bringing the droid's memory back. Earlier in the movie, C-3PO's memory had been reset so that the droid could translate Sith language and reveal the coordinates to Exegol. The reset was supposed to erase C-3PO's memories completely, but for some convenient reason, Abrams decided to undo the droid's noble sacrifice by having R2-D2 reboot C-3PO.

This isn't the only scene that Lucasfilm's released online. Fans can also revisit The Rise of Skywalker's finale fight scene, Rey and Kylo Ren's duel, the Ben and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) reunion, and the pep talk between Lando (Billy Dee Williams) and Poe.

These clips are a great way to remind fans to nab a copy of The Rise of Skywalker on home media so that they can review the film for Easter Eggs and other interesting details.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is getting its Digital HD release on March 17. The film is also going to be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD on March 31.
