Lucasfilm Celebrates Pride Month With New Logo

June is officially LGBTQ Pride Month and Lucasfilm is joining the celebration. The production company has just changed its logo on social media to confirm their support for the LGBTQ community.

The official Lucasfilm Facebook account debuted a new profile photo on June 13. Check it out below.

Not surprisingly, fans immediately thanked the production company for their support.

The month of June was chosen for the LGBTQ Pride Month in honor of the Stonewall riots on June 1969. Former president Bill Clinton officially declared Pride Month in 1999 and 2000 while Barack Obama declared it each year from 2009 to 2016. Current president Donald Trump also acknowledged this year's Pride Month through a tweet.

In addition to celebrating Pride Month, Lucasfilm also celebrated next year's Star Wars Celebration. It was confirmed that the 2020 Star Wars Celebration will be held in Anaheim, California on August 27-30, 2020.

The official description for Star Wars Celebration 2020 reads as follows:

"Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2020 will be four fun-filled days of major announcements, immersive exhibits, an interactive show floor, screenings, exclusive merchandise, celebrity guests, panels, autograph sessions, fan-inspired activities, costumes, and other surprises. From young fans of Star Wars animated shows to die-hards fueled by the nostalgia for the original Star Wars trilogy to families that enjoy Star Wars together, there's something for everyone at Star Wars Celebration. For Star Wars fans, there's nothing else like it."

Star Wars Celebration 2020 will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center from August 27-30, 2020. Tickets for the event will go on sale June 21 at 9 a.m. PT.
