There's no denying that the Star Wars universe has been on quite a roll as of late, producing banger after banger after banger on the Disney+ streaming platform. However, the same can't be said about the franchise's movie slate which has seemingly been cursed.
Just recently, it was announced that the next Star Wars feature film will be set following the events of The Rise of Skywalker but it's not expected to hit cinemas for another three years. Naturally, it has a lot of fans curious as to what's been going on behind the scenes.
It turns out, there might be a more serious reason behind the next Star Wars film not coming out until 2025. As per a report from Puck's Matthew Belloni, Lucasfilm is worried about the franchise's next big-screen offering, saying that the next film's frustrating development time was a result of "a culture of fear and indecision" among the company's executives
The company is said to be determined to get things right this time around and also acknowledges that the sequel trilogy was "rushed" but is putting the blame on "aggressive release dates".
Additionally, Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy resorted to "choosing fan service and franchise management over creative swings" which ultimately led to the trilogy not clicking with fans and critics entirely.

Well, I think it's great that the production company is finally brave enough to admit what went wrong with the sequels. Hopefully, they've truly learned from their previous mistakes but if anything, the success of the Disney+ shows tells you that they finally figured things out.
