Lord of The Rings Star Elijah Wood Reacts to Christopher Tolkien's Death

There is little doubt that Lord of the Rings fans are still mourning the death of Christopher Tolkien, son of J.R.R. Tolkien. Not surprisingly, even the stars of the films based on the legendary author's books are mourning as well. Elijah Wood has just commented about Christopher's passing and he has a beautiful message.

Wood took to his official Twitter account to address Christopher's death. Take a look at his tweet below.

"Sad to hear about the passing of Christopher Tolkien. The world would not know of the vast tales of Middle-Earth had it not been for his extraordinary work. Namárië," Wood wrote.

Wood isn't exactly wrong about this. Christopher had illustrated the maps in his father's books. In addition to that, he was responsible for editing the older Tolkien's posthumously released works. Needless to say, Christopher's passing is a loss felt by millions of fans around the world.

If you're wondering about the last part of Wood's tweet, the word "Namárië" is Elvish for "farewell." It's a fitting final goodbye to a man who helped change the world through his father's works.

Christopher passed away on Thursday, January 16 in France. The former author and editor was previously brought to the Centre Hospitalier de la Dracénie (CHD) for health problems. He was 95 years old.
