Lord Of The Rings Series Releases First Teaser Revealing Impressive Creative Team

The first teaser for the highly anticipated Lord of the Rings TV series is finally here and it certainly boasts of the impressive creative team that is currently working on the Amazon Prime show.

The teaser once again confirms that the series will take place in The Second Age in the kingdom of Númenor before introducing the creative team starting with showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. It then lists Gennifer Hutchinson (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul), Helen Shang (Hannibal, 13 Reasons Why), Jason Cahill (ER, The Sopranos), Justin Doble (Stranger Things, Fringe), and Glenise Mullins (Terminator: Genisys) as writers.

Stephany Folsom (Toy Story 4) and Brian Cogman (Game of Thrones) are also confirmed as part of the writing team while revealing that JA Bayona (The Impossible, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) will be directing the first two episodes of the show.

Executive producers include Bayona's producing partner Belén Atienza (A Monster Calls, The Orphanage), Bruce Richmond (Westworld, The Leftovers), Gene Kelly (Boardwalk Empire, The Pacific), and Lindsey Weber (10 Cloverfield Lane, Star Trek Beyond). Ron Ames (Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Departed) will serve as co-producer while Kate Hawley (Crimson Peak, Suicide Squad) is the costume designer.

Academy Award winner Rick Heinrichs (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Sleepy Hollow) is in charge with production design and Jason Smith (Super 8, The Revenant) is the visual effects supervisor. Additionally, Tolkien scholar Tom Shippey is on board and John Howe, who previously worked on the Lord of the Rings trilogy, is the illustrator/concept artist.

It's an impressive team that should ensure a truly epic series. We certainly can't wait for the Lord of the Rings show to air on Amazon Prime.
