LOONA member Olivia Hye officially left her role in GIRL’S RE:VERSE due to health reasons.

Kakao Entertainment created GIRL’S RE:VERSE, a survival show that features 30 active female K-pop idols who have been giving life to the idols in a virtual world.

Other idols in the program include ICHILLIN’s Jackie, Weeekly’s Jaehee, Nature’s Loha, Yerin, Purple Kiss’ Chaein, Lee Su Jeong, Hyein, AOA Chanmi, Suyun, Hezz, Bora, Yein, Luda, Mire, Soobin, Kwon Eunbi, Im Nayoung, Haeyoon, Songsun, Heejin, Juri, Swan, Hayoung, Monday, Aurora, Yiyeon, Elly, I.L and Seungeun.

The group, however, lost one of its members after Olivia Hye confirmed her departure from the show.

LOONA’s Olivia Hye Leaves GIRL’S RE:VERSE

Before Olivia Hye left the show, fans speculated that she was the one playing contestant Chonky Cat’s role. Following her departure, GIRL’S RE:VERSE indirectly confirmed her identity.

On Jan. 20, the virtual survival program announced on its social media pages that Chonky Cat would return to her hometown.

“For health reasons, Chonky Cat will regretfully halt her journey on W and return to her hometown on the Cat Star. We thank Chonky Cat, who has done her best up until now, and we ask for lots of support for Chonky Cat’s future,” the show said.

It remains unknown what health issues she has that made her step down from the show. But it happened amid her and other LOONA members’ legal battle against its agency, Blockberry Creative.

LOONA Members File Lawsuits VS Blockberry Creative

After Chuu’s removal from the group, nine out of the remaining 11 members sued Blockberry Creative in pursuit of suspending their contracts with the company.

Olivia Hye and four other members — Haseul, Yeojin, Go Won and Yves — lost. Meanwhile, Heejin, Choerry, Jinsoul and Kim Lip won the case.

Vivi and Hyunjin, on the other hand, did not file their cases.

The results officially suspended the contracts of the members who won the case have been suspended, while the five members remain under the agency.

The members who lost the case have since broken their silence to express their dismay about the result. Meanwhile, Blockberry Creative has not released a new statement but said it started looking into the lawsuits’ outcomes.
