Lookism, one of the most read webtoons on Naver Webtoon, is coming to the world's biggest streaming site, Netflix.
The rise of manhwa and manga gave way to filmmakers and showrunners to create adaptations of them. So far, most adaptations already savored success when they were released to the viewers, including The Tale of Nokdu, Love Alarm, Sweet Home, Orange Marmalade, Extraordinary You, A Business Proposal, What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, Backstreet Rookie, Itaewon Class, and My ID Is Gangnam Beauty, to name a few.
But for the first time in Netflix's history, Lookism is about to set a new record once it arrives on the platform.

Lookism To Make History in Netflix
Lookism tells the story of Park Hyeong Seok, a high school student who has been bullied due to his weight and looks. However, his life changes instantly when he wakes up in a different body and becomes a tall, handsome boy.
The Korea Times noted that it would become the first animation on the streaming giant that is based on a Naver Webtoon story.

Park Tae Jun created the webtoon in 2014, and it has been serialized on Naver's global platforms. With that, the webtoon itself has been translated into different languages, including English, Chinese, French, Thai, and Japanese.
It has 602 million views on the English version, pushing the total to 8.7 billion globally.
Lookism Release Date and More Details
Following the confirmation, Netflix has since unleashed its new trailer that revealed Lookism release date.
On its official YouTube channel, the streaming company revealed that the webtoon-based animation would arrive on November 4. See the full trailer here.
Before its arrival as an animation, it was adapted into a live-action series by Studio Mir, the company behind DOTA: Dragon's Blood and The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.
As of press time, details about the voice cast members remain unknown. But it was also confirmed that ATEEZ's song would be featured as an original theme song.
