Loki Writer Teases Richard E. Grant's Mysterious Role in MCU Series

If there's one thing that fans have been looking forward to in Loki, it's the revelation of Richard E. Grant's mystery role. After all, fans have been speculating about Grant's character since the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor was confirmed to join the series.

So who is Grant playing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Michael Waldron teased the character's identity will be revealed soon.

Waldron recently spoke to Total Film where he was once again asked about Grant's role. The series head writer chose not to reveal too much. In fact, Waldron even denied that the veteran actor is in the show.

"Nobody wants to hear me say who Richard E. Grant's playing. We're lucky to have him in the show – if he's in the show, I heard he might be," Waldron said jokingly. He then pointed out that fans will need to continue following the episodes to find out.

"So I think everybody should just watch and find out. Like Loki himself, we really wanted the experience of watching the show to feel kind of unexpected and constantly shape-shifting," Waldron said.

Fans certainly aren't buying Waldron's bluff and are still completely convinced that Grant is playing an important role in Loki. Some believe that he might be playing a version of Loki that Tom Hiddleston encounters in the show. On the other hand, Grant might be the one character that people have been waiting for since WandaVision: Mephisto.

Will we finally get to find out who Grant is playing in the MCU? The next episode of Loki premieres on Disney+ on June 16, 2021.
