Elizabeth Olsen Confirms Doctor Strange 2 has Wrapped Filming

That's a wrap for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Well, at least, for Elizabeth Olsen. The WandaVision star has confirmed that she has finished filming for the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel.

Olsen recently took part in Variety's Actors on Actors where she spoke with Kaley Cuoco. At one point, the Harley Quinn star pointed out that Olsen was still working on the second Doctor Strange film. However, the Avengers: Endgame actress corrected Cuoco, stating that "I finished Doctor Strange 2."

Olsen went on to confirm that she had worked on Doctor Strange 2 as soon as she was done with WandaVision.

"That's what I was shooting in the UK. So, I finished WandaVision. It was October. We had two months during the pandemic. Luckily, even though we filmed in Atlanta and then we moved to L.A., we had a lot of the same crew so the mask didn't feel as awkward," she said.

Olsen also pointed out that she had been playing Wanda Maximoff for a long time now, basically portraying the character in two different projects in the span of two years.

It's great that Olsen has already completed work on Doctor Strange 2 and that production is complete. Hopefully, this means we could get a teaser for the sequel in the next few months.

The premise of Doctor Strange 2 is still a huge mystery but there are speculations that Scarlet Witch will be the main villain in the film. On the other hand, some believe that Wanda might be calling on the Sorceror Supreme to help her control her powers properly.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is directed by Sam Raimi and will also star Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange aka the Sorceror Supreme. The sequel is currently scheduled for release on March 25, 2022.
