Loki Star Gugu Mbatha-Raw Teases Mystery Role in Tom Hiddleston's Disney+ Series

In case you missed it, Gugu Mbatha-Raw is joining the cast of Loki. But who exactly will the Black Mirror star play in the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe series? Mbatha-Raw teased on her mysterious role in the Tom Hiddleston show.

Mbatha-Raw was recently a guest on The Empire Filmpodcast where she was asked about her upcoming project. However, the star of San Junipero could only offer the smallest details on the series.

"I'm actually working on a Disney+ how by Marvel called Loki, which is a sort of spinoff, limited series about the character Loki played by Tom Hiddleston," Mbatha-Raw said. "But I can't really tell you too much about my role because I'm sworn to secrecy. I am very excited."

We're not exactly surprised that Marvel Studios is once again being very secretive about the characters that will appear in Loki. So far, the only thing we know for sure is that Hiddleston will reprise his role as the God of Mischief. However, we're still guessing about Mbatha-Raw's character and whether she will play an important part in the MCU.

Mbatha-Raw isn't the only other big name attached to the show. It was also confirmed that Owen Wilson will appear in the series but, as expected, his character's identity is also a mystery.

Production on Loki is currently on hold due to the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19). However, the series is already expected to premiere on Disney+ by early 2021.
