Loki Season 2 Casts Blindspotting Star Rafael Casal in Major Role

Unlike the other MCU live-action shows, Loki is officially set to move forward with a second season which is now in production. While most of the plot details have been under wraps, we do know that the main cast members are returning and some set photos have also emerged which hint at what's about to come in the upcoming season. Now, it looks like the series has recruited its first new cast member.

Deadline has reported that Blindspotting star Rafael Casal has joined the second season of Loki for a major role. His appearance in the series has been speculated ever since he was spotted in the set photos. The details regarding his role are being kept under wraps, but there are fans who are speculating that he might be playing Zaniac.


He is joining the cast that already includes Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, and Eugene Cordero, who are all returning from the first season. Moon Knight directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are helming the majority of the episodes while Eric Martin is penning all episodes.

Casal is known for playing Miles in both the film and TV series adaptation of Blindspotting where he also serves as the co-writer and producer. He also appeared in the film Bad Education and TV shows such as The Good Lord Bird and Are You Afraid of the Dark?.

It is always great to hear whenever a major comic book project is adding a talented actor to its cast and Casal is certainly an example of that. He is currently one of the rising actors and creators in Hollywood who has a promising career and this role could put him in the global spotlight.

It's curious to see what role he will play in the series and whether he will be on the good side or not or perhaps he is actually playing Zaniac which is what most fans online are theorizing at the moment.
