Logan's Dafne Keen Flees From Mrs Coulter In BBC's His Dark Materials Teaser

The first teaser for the new BBC series His Dark Materials is finally here and things are certainly looking tense for Dafne Keen. The Logan star appears to be going through a lot of emotions as she flees from the scary Mrs. Coulter.

The trailer opens with Lyra Belacqua (Keen) hiding in the dark as she peers through a hole. We get a brief glimpse at Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) and Dr. Carne (Clarke Peters) before the scene cuts to Lyra being chased on the street. Soon, we see the gorgeous Marisa Coulter (Ruth Wilson) but be careful, her looks can be deceiving.

The series is based on Philip Pullman's novel series of the same name and it looks like the first season will cover the book The Northern Lights. This means we'll see Lyra's journey to the Arctic as she tries to find her uncle Lord Asriel as well as her friend Roger Parslow.

It's certainly great to see Keen take on a role that is far different from Laura Kinney/X-23 in Logan. Nevertheless, there is little doubt that the rising young star will continue to astound us with her talents.

Mary Poppins Returns star Lin-Manuel Miranda rounds out the main cast as Lee Scoresby.

His Dark Materials has not yet been given an official air date. However, BBC has already renewed the series for a second season which could cover the book The Subtle Knife. The show will first air on BBC and is also set to premiere on HBO in late 2019.
