Rising star Dafne Keen turned a lot of heads following her stellar performance as Laura aka X-23 in 2017's Logan opposite X-Men veteran Hugh Jackman. A lot of fans and critics saw massive potential in the then 12-year-old who impressed with her action sequences in the R-rated Marvel film. Now that Disney has officially acquired the rights to the mutant franchise, effectively erasing the "Fox-verse" except for Deadpool, a lot of people have been wondering if there's still a chance we could see Dafne turn up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Speaking with Looper, Keen shared that she's "100% hopeful" that she could one day reprise her X-23 role. "I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high in case it doesn't happen, but I really do hope it does because I loved playing Laura." The young actress later shared that Disney bringing Deadpool to the fold makes her really happy. "She holds a very special place in my heart and she's an incredible character. And to be fair, the whole Deadpool 3 situation really, really made me happy because, obviously when Disney bought Fox, I suspected they weren't going to do any more R-rated films, but then greenlighting Deadpool is a great sign for other R-rated movies."
I believe that there will always be a place for Keen in the MCU especially now that they're already incorporating the multiverse concept into their projects. But if you'd ask me, I'd like for Keen to join the franchise without any trace of her Fox-verse past. The timing couldn't have been perfect as well as it's looking pretty evident that Kevin Feige and his crew are set to introduce the Young Avengers to the franchise.
Speaking of the MCU, WandaVision will hit Disney+ on January 15, 2021.
